Hello SACReD Community,
We are sharing this letter to announce that Rev. Angela Tyler-Williams has transitioned out of SACReD as of January 15, 2026. Below you can read Angela’s letter to our partners and supporters.
The SACReD team offers gratitude for the tremendous time and heart that Rev. Angela has invested in SACReD. Her commitment to our mission and vision helped bring SACReD to life, and will continue to fuel our healing, teaching, and organizing, even as she moves toward new things. We are clear that SACReD in its current iteration wouldn’t exist without her.
Rev. Iya. Latishia James will continue to lead as SACReD’s Executive Director, and our team is steadfast in our planning and next steps for SACReD’s future.
We pray blessings for Angela in this transition, and we will continue to see you in the work to shape a world where Reproductive Justice is our lived reality.
In possibility,
The SACReD Team

| Dear SACReD Partners and Supporters, The start of 2026 has found me in a period of deep reflection as we continue to navigate the presence of fascism in our country and around the world. I wanted you to hear this news from me. After much discernment, I have decided to step away from SACReD as Co-Executive Director for Movement Building, effective January 15. It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to lead SACReD since 2021. Over the past five years together, our community has navigated extraordinary challenges and overcome significant obstacles to build a meaningful faith presence in the Reproductive Justice landscape. I leave inspired and motivated by our national gatherings, educational resources, and partnerships, all in service of bringing people together to grapple with faith and Reproductive Justice. As I look back on my time, here are some of the highlights of my tenure: We established regular national gatherings that have brought faith and reproductive health, rights, and justice leaders together to recognize and strengthen our collective power. We have expanded the staff from one to four. Our team developed over 50 educational resources and learning opportunities that have equipped faith communities and secular movement leaders alike to engage Reproductive Justice free from shame, judgment, and stigma.SACReD now has a fully developed and designed curriculum, with facilitator and participant guides that we piloted with over 450 facilitators in 225 congregations and organizations in 40 states and 30 religious traditions and denominations.SACReD has played a foundational role in shaping broader movement strategy. We have accomplished so much over the past five years, and I thank you for being a part of what we created together at SACReD. I very much look forward to witnessing what the faith and Reproductive Justice movements will do moving forward. I am confident that SACReD is in good hands with Rev. Iya Latishia James continuing their leadership as Executive Director of the organization. I am spending the next season focused on my own personal rest and discernment about what comes next for me, and remain, as always, a dedicated partner in this struggle for justice and liberation. Until we meet again. In Solidarity, Rev. Angela Tyler-Williams |
